Why Acorn Ham is Light in Tasting

Here you can find below the 4 secrets of this wonderful taste.

1.Exercise in the breeding pig:

Acorn grease is lighter that common animal grease, because it is the grease of a vegetable.

The exercise the pig used to do in countryside breeding help this light acorn grease to spread through the meat rather than concentrate in specific fat places.

This sweet grease inserted in the pig muscles makes the resulting ham after a meat curing process soft meltable and easy taffy at the palate.

The taste of the final ham is a middle savour between salty and sweet, just delicious.

2. Especial pig race:

The pig race used to breed animals with this kind of food, is the "iberian pig" and it is native of Spain and Portugal, this is the reason why the Spanish cured ham is called Jamon iberico.

3. Natural space for pig exercising:

The place where the pigs are bred it is called the "dehesa", and it is a forest of acorn oaks and helms. This forest has small springs that comes from small rivers and rain water accumulated between the oaks. The oaks only represents the 30% of the covered surface of the forest, this is the reason why the acorns are spread in the grass and pigs can graze as cow or sheep in flocks.

4. Environmental sustainable industry:

Imitating the wild boars, which are their immediate parents, iberian pigs can eat also roots when they find and reach withe its snouts as dogs and extract with their teeth. They look for this kind of food near streams and rain springs. The "dehesa" habitat is shared with bird migrant species that stay in the dehesa commonly a month, taking the benefits of of the insects they find near the pigs folk and the fish of the rivers.

Natural Tips for Treating ED

Natural Tips for Treating ED

Though some consider it a touchy subject, erectile dysfunction (ED) is nothing to hide or suffer from in silence, whether you’re a man with ED or his partner. According to the the US National Institutes of Health, the number of men with erectile dysfunction may be anywhere from 15 to 30 million men and more and more doctor's office visits by men are made to seek treatment for erectile dysfunction.

Fortunately, aside from prescription medications, men looking for alternative and herbal-based treatments to try have wide variety to choose from which may be promising for providing ED relief. For example, some have used the herb ginkgo biloba successfully for ED; ginkgo works by improving blood flow to the penile veins and arteries and is without many of the side effects of medications.

Other men with decreased libido take Indian Ginseng, a tonic herb that is capable of strengthening the body and is even used by some as an aphrodisiac. Believe it or not, the amino acid, L-Arginine is used by the body to create nitric oxide, the chemical that relaxes the blood vessels, in order to diminish erectile dysfunction.

L-Arginine is found in food sources such as meat, dairy products, poultry and fish. Some men suffering from ED often have a deficiency of the mineralzinc and a simple supplement of 15-30 mg daily can help to improve their symptoms. But before considering adding supplements and medications, men with ED should consider the research which shows that those men who exercise regularly are less likely to develop impotence as they age. Researchers at the New England Research Institutes of Watertown, Mass., studied 593 men, ages 40 to 70, and found that men who burned at least 200 calories a day, were less likely to develop ED than sedentary men, so even minimal exercise is helpful when it comes to maintaining ahealthy sex life.

Important Vitamins for Women (and men too).

Vitamin A: (Beta carotene) Essential for good vision, healthy skin, hair, teeth and bones; can also boost immune function and help protect against cancer. Recommended amount: 10,000 IU per day.

B Vitamins, including Folic Acid: Folic Acid, B6 and B12 work together to prevent anemia, manufacture red blood cells and build genetic material. Folic Acid also has been proven to reduce the risk of birth defects. The latest research also shows that these B vitamins may improve memory and reduce levels of homocysteine (a chemical found in the blood that may help predict heart attack and stroke risk), thereby lowering your risk of heart disease and stroke. Folic Acid is also being studied as a means to ward off colon and breast cancers. Recommended amount: Folic Acid 0.4 mg. per day, B6 (pyridoxine) 50 mg. per day; B12 300mcg. Per day (micrograms).

Vitamin C: Helps prevent heart disease and cancer. Contributes to wound healing, immune functions, the production of collagen (connective tissue) and healthy gums. It also helps the body absorb iron. Recommended amount: 500 mg. per day

Vitamin D: Maintains healthy bones (by helping your body to absorb calcium) and promotes immune function; may help protect against the loss of lean muscle mass associated with aging. New research suggests it may also protect against breast and colon cancers. Recommended amount: 400 IU per day

Vitamin E: Helps form red blood cells, muscle and other tissues. In large quantities, it may protect against cancer causing cell changes, reduce your risk of heart disease and enhance immune function. New research indicates that E also may slow the progression of Alzheimer’s Disease and be a useful therapy for diabetes (it improves glucose control) and arthritis (it reduces inflammation). Recommended amount: 400 IU per day. Do not exceed 400 IU per day without the advice of your doctor.

Folic Acid: Take 0.4 mg daily when trying to get pregnant as this prevents some birth defects.

Important Minerals for Everyone

As with vitamins, it can be difficult, to get the amounts of minerals needed for optimum health through diet alone. Mineral supplements can help you make sure you are getting all the minerals your body requires. Below is a list of essential minerals we recommend.

Calcium: Calcium is vital for the formation of strong bones and teeth and for the maintenance of healthy gums. It is also important in the maintenance of a regular heartbeat and the transmission of nerve impulses. Calcium lowers cholesterol levels and helps prevent cardiovascular disease. It may increase the rate of bone growth and bone mineral density and children. It may lower blood pressure and prevent bone loss associated with osteoporosis as well. RDA: 1000 mg. per day, 1500 mg. per day after menopause.

Magnesium: Magnesium assists in calcium and potassium uptake. Supplementing the diet with magnesium can help prevent depression, dizziness, muscle weakness and twitching, and premenstrual syndrome, and also aids in maintaining the body’s proper pH balance. Recommended amount: 750 mg. per day. Potassium Role: This mineral is important for a healthy nervous system and a regular heart rhythm. It helps prevent stroke, aids in proper muscle contraction and works with sodium to control the body’s water balance.

Selenium: Selenium’s primary function is to prohibit the oxidation of lipids (fats). A vital antioxidant, especially when combined with vitamin E. It protects the immune system by preventing the formation of free radicals, which can damage the body. It has also been found to function as a preventive against the formation of certain types of tumors. Selenium and vitamin E act synergistically to aid in the production of antibodies and to help maintain a healthy heart and liver. This trace element is needed for pancreatic function and tissue elasticity. Recommended amount: 200 mcg. (micrograms) per day

Potassium: Important for chemical reactions within the cells and aids in maintaining stable blood pressure. Recommended amount: 50 mg. per day

Iron: Perhaps the most important of irons functions in the body is the production of hemoglobin and myoglobin and the oxygenation of red blood cells. Iron is the mineral found in the largest amounts of the blood. It is essential for many enzymes, including catalase, and is important for growth. Iron is also required for a healthy immune system and for energy production. Recommended amount: 30 mg. per day (if you take a supplement, this can cause black-looking feces and constipation).

Zinc: Assists with digestion and metabolism. This important mineral may help prevent acne and regulate the activity of the oil glands. It promotes a healthy immune system and the healing of wounds. It protects the liver from chemical damage and is vital for bone formation. Recommended amount: 15-50 mg. per day. The above dosage recommendations vary from source to source. Taking these vitamins individually may be costly and time consuming. Look for a balanced vitamin preparation with which you are comfortable. Ask your pharmacist for recommendations.

Endometriosis - knowing is half the battle

Endometriosis - knowing is half the battle

They say women are blessed with the gift of child bearing. This also means having the burden of monthly periods and everything it entails. It requires doubling the hygiene rituals as disregarding those may cause complications. One of these complications can be endometriosis.

Endometriosis is a common issue for women over 30 who are of reproductive age but have never been pregnant. It is common to an estimated 89 million women but is most often shrugged off as the usual premenstrual syndrome. Though it appears to hit women over 30, it may also affect girls before they even start menstruating. It is said to be caused by excess amounts of estrogen in the body.

The endometrium is a lining of the uterus that separates the myometrium from the uterine cavity. During a woman's menstrual cycle, the uterus sheds off the endometrial lining in the form of a thick, glandular, blood vessel-filled tissue in response to the body's hormone production. Endometriosis may seem similar to a regular menstrual cycle in the sense that the endometrial lining is still sloughed off. However, not all of it is excreted. Instead, some of it gets misplaced and transported to other organs in the pelvic cavity. It may attach itself to the bowel, bladder or small intestines among other organs, causing infection, scarring, and worse - infertility.

The most common symptoms of endometriosis include: progressive dysmenorrhea; chronic lumbar, pelvic and abdominal pain; dyspareunia (painful intercourse); dyschezia (painful bowel movement) or dysuria(painful urination); menorrhagia (heavy menstrual bleeding); nausea and vomiting, and pre- or intermenstrual spotting.

During menstruation, women usually experience abdominal cramps and tenderness of the breasts. This is said to be due to the estrogen level that fluctuates during that time. However, for people with endometriosis, the pain gets worse over time. This symptom is usually neglected as women often think of it as part of their usual dysmenorrhea attacks. This may well be carried over to experiencing chronic pain, usually on the lower back, pelvic and abdominal areas. As a lot of women experience radiating pain during dysmenorrhea. The pain radiates from abdomen to the lumbar area.

Women with endometriosis also experience dyspareunia, or painful sexual intercourse. There might be an inflammation of the vaginal lining, causing pain upon contact or friction during intercourse.
Once the misplaced endometrial lining attaches itself to your bowel, kidney or bladder, you may experience dyschezia or dysuria. Dyschezia is a condition wherein you experience discomfort while defecating. Dysuria is a condition characterized by painful urination. In both cases you may experience hematochezia or hematuria wherein blood is found in your feces and urine. Difficulty defecating and urinating may cause internal bleeding and, in turn, infection.

Menorrhagia, or heavy menstrual bleeding is not something to shrug off. It may manifest itself as prolonged menstrual bleeding, heavy menstrual bleeding, or even both. Some women are used to their periods taking two to three weeks to finish, This symptom is tricky to detect as menstrual cycles differ for every woman. Nausea and vomiting, again a common occurrence during dysmenorrhea, are also symptoms of endometriosis. This can also be a sign that misplaced endometrial lining had attached itself onto your gastro-intestinal organs. Premenstrual and inter-menstrual spotting can also be a symptom of endometriosis, and is characterized by blood spots that appear before and in between menstrual cycles.

Endometriosis is a progressive condition that will, in the long run, affect a woman's ability to create life. As prolonged, untreated endometriosis may cause the endometrial lining to attach itself inside the vagina and to other organs outside the pelvic region. Severe infection may form scar tissues that can block the fallopian tubes and hinder ovulation.

As of now, a sure-fire cure for endometriosis is still being tested. However, modern science has provided us with medications and procedures that may help delay the effects of it. Laser surgery can be made to remove endometrial fragments from where they have attached. Also, there are medications available that will stop the body from producing more estrogen to prevent the endometrial fragments from growing. If you're experiencing the symptoms listed on this article, it is best to visit your gynecologist and have yourself checked.

Three Great Reasons To Ship Cars To Europe

You might be surprised at the number of reasons that people need to ship cars to Europe. The following are just a few of the reasons that you might find to ship your vehicle to Europe.

Reason # 1 - Selling

Selling vehicles is much different than it once was. Today, you are no longer restricted to selling to people in your hometown. You can ship your vehicles all the way across the nation and even beyond its borders. This means that you will be able to find buyers from all around the world, even Europe, and if you have a vehicle that is in high demand in another country, you will find that you can often get a much better price.

Reason # 2 – Your Life

If you are moving to another country to stay, you might find that it is easier to bring your car with you. If the car is something you cherish, you do not want it to languish in some storage unit stateside, not when you will be able to ship it with you. You might even find that having your car with you provides a sense of home even while you are abroad. Learning to drive with all of the different rules and regulations in a new country will be much easier when you have a vehicle you are accustomed to handling.

Reason # 3 – Your Work

If your job sends you on an extended stay in a European country, you also might want to ship your car with you. If you are on a stay of 6 months to a year, you might find that it is more cost effective to ship. You will not have to rely on rental cars or public transportation to reach the areas your work takes you. You will also be able to use your car to visit other countries and go sightseeing. Check with your company to see if they will pay for a portion of the shipping costs since it will save them money that they would normally have to pay for all of your rental cars.

The above are only a few of the reasons that many people choose to ship cars to Europe. Find a company that can offer you great prices as well as plenty of experience in the business when you are ready to ship your car.

Why Is Exporting Autos A Good Idea?

If you are in the market for a new vehicle, or even a fleet of vehicles if you own your own company, then you might want to consider the benefits that exporting autos can provide. You can export vehicles from another country and choose a company that will be able to ship those vehicles directly to you. Exporting is an easy way to get the kinds of vehicles you need and you will find that it is probably more cost effective than you thought. You simply need to find a good company that will be able to take care of the exporting for you. Both wholesale dealers as well as private citizens will be able to benefit from this.

One of the biggest reasons that people enjoy exporting autos is that you will find so many more choices. Countries around the world manufacture their own vehicles, and you will be able to choose from an array of car types that you will not find in the United States. This means that you will be able to find unique vehicles from many different manufacturers.

You will often find that the cost of buying and shipping a car exported from another country is less than buying a new car in the United States. You can find used cars that you will be able to export for even less. Whenever you choose to purchase a vehicle from another country or even from the dealer down the street for that matter, make sure that you check the mileage. You should be able to find a number of great vehicles that you can buy that are in good condition and that are cost effective.

One of the best reasons for exporting autos is that you do not have to deal with any local salesmen or high-pressure pitches. You will be able to get the car that you want without all of the hassle. You will be able to buy from private sellers or from dealers in other countries. Of course, you will have to incur the price of exporting the auto.

When you find the car that you want, make sure that you find a company that will give you the best shipping service possible. The seller may have a company that they use, but if you have found a company that you believe is more reliable you should speak with the seller about using your company. Since you are paying for the shipping, they should not have a problem with that.

Getting Personal Loans For Bad Credit-Things You Should Know To Avoid Troubles Later On

It may surprise you that even people with bad credit can still get personal loans. These personal loans for bad credit are what they get to try to improve their credit score. By improving their score, they will make it easier for themselves to secure loans in the future that they may need to improve their lifestyles. Of course, there are disadvantages to getting personal loans and if you don’t have the discipline, you may not be able to pay it back on time. This can spell even more bad credit history for you. Here are tips when getting these loans.

Make The Payments

When you get personal loans for bad credit, you can take those loans and pay off the debts that you want to get rid of. However, you will still have that loan to pay off and it depends on what kind of loan you get. If you get a secured loan, this means that you put up collateral like your house or your car. The payments are monthly and they have low rates and longer payment periods which can be good if you cannot make higher payments each month. However, not making the payments means that you can actually lose your house or your car because the lender cannot wait for you to pay. The advice here is to make sure that you make the payments on time and always complete payments. Since the rates are low, it should not be a problem.

Get Unsecured Loans

Of course, unsecured loans are even more dangerous because you don’t have to put up collateral. This means that it will be risky for the lender to give you money. In this scenario, you will need to pay higher monthly payments that have higher interest rates. What does this mean? It will be more difficult for you to make the payments if you do cannot keep up with the amounts. Late payments will just make it worse. This is why personal loans for bad credit should be well thought out first.

Make A Plan

You have debts that you want to pay off and to improve your credit score. Do not dive into the next loan that is sent in your direction. Make a plan so that you know exactly how you are going to pay your loans and how much you need to make to pay off the loans. Without a solid plan, you can stand to lose everything and be left out on the street.

All You Need To Understand About Car Breakdown Cover

Most of us depend on our vehicles to get us where we want to, and it usually is really annoying, not to mention inconvenient if they break down, causing us to miss a vital appointment, end up being late for work, or spoil our getaway. It's bad enough if your vehicle breaks down in the middle of town, but it can be far worse if it leaves us stuck and by yourself in the middle of nowhere.

Luckily for us, help is available from the huge range of breakdown insurance companies, who can offer a number of breakdown services, often at inexpensive prices. A few, like the AA and RAC give roadside assistance making use of their own dedicated patrols, whilst others (including Green Flag) instead make use of a countrywide network of independent garages and recovery providers.

Policies are usually split into two categories: vehicle and person. Vehicle cover implies that a specific car is insured for breakdown, no matter who's driving it, whilst person cover means that you personally are insured as the driver or passenger of any vehicle - a beneficial option should you drive a number of vehicles. You are often given the option to increase this coverage; for example, if you select person coverage you may extend this to joint membership (yourself and another named person living at your home address), family membership (you, and up to 3 additional named persons living at your household address) or vehicle membership (anyone who drives the vehicle). These extended options will obviously increase the policy premium.

Once you've decided the kind of cover you're looking for, you'll then have to select the level. This may range from the most simple entry level plans that simply include roadside assistance if you breakdown when driving away from home, in addition to a tow to the nearest garage, to the most comprehensive plans, that will provide transport home for you, your car and your passengers, or if required, a replacement hire car and overnight accommodation expenses. It may also be possible to include European cover into your policy, to provide peace of mind when you are driving abroad. You need to work out which of the options offered are essential to you, to help you to build a breakdown package customized to your needs.

Taking care during the winter

After a days hard work at the office many of us feel sleepy and tired, the summer nights make this less of a struggle because the nights are longer and the majority of us will drive back home in daylight. Unfortunately this becomes problematic when the winter nights draw in as the nights grow shorter, colder and icy.

Winter nights are extremely difficult to drive on and present drivers with an array of difficulties that we all must try and combat. Global warming may have heated things up a little but poor wintery weather is expected to arrive very soon. This means ice on the roads and the dreaded black ice which is extremely dangerous as it is hard to see, especially when driving in the dark.

Drivers have to pay attention on the roads during winter as accidents are considerably higher at this time of year as the chances of people skidding off roads are increased. Weather conditions do not help matters at all but it is on the occurrences when there are mixed weather conditions where accidents are prone. Rain and snow is the worst mix as this makes roads extremely slippy and dangerous.

Heavy rain is a common sight during the winter in the UK so preparing your car is important. First you should check your windscreen wipers and replace them if they are looking worn as these will become invaluable to you and if they are not in full working order they will not withstand the rain or speed they will have to go at.

Braking distances are increased in poor weather conditions such as rain so it is advisable to double the distance between you and the car in front to ensure you will be able to stop in time should you need to brake in an emergency. Steering can also become unresponsive when it is wet, if you find that this is the case for you then ease of the accelerator and begin to slow down gradually.

Heavy rain will quickly result in puddles and these can increase very quickly so driving through them is not recommended. You may not realise how deep a puddle is and can soon find yourself in trouble including being stranded. Driving through water at high speeds can seriously affect your car and its brakes so whenever you have been through any water test your brakes as soon as possible (but only when it is safe to do so!)

Women Car Insurance- An Insurance Policy for the Safer Drivers

Female drivers definitely need to take advantage of the fact that there are many women car insurance policies available which are specially designed for women as they have been statistically found to be safer drivers as compared to men. The studies conducted have further revealed that the female drivers get less embroiled in serious motor accidents in comparison to their male counterpart. Hence, they can get discounted rates on the insurance policies. However the issue with cheap women car insurance is that the discounted rates will not compensate for damage suffered due to any natural calamity like a flood or a hurricane. Hence you would require replacing your vehicle in those cases by spending from your own pocket.

So before opting for any insurance policy one needs to carefully go through the details in fine print because even the so called comprehensive insurance policies also do not take care of all the eventualities. So, in the case of cheap women car insurance policy it is obvious that one needs to be even more careful regarding these terms and conditions. Recently after the devastating Typhoon Ketsana struck the island country of Philippines, many vehicles in Manila got damaged. They were not covered by the insurance policy because of this clause.

So, in order to ensure that you do not actually spend more on insuring your vehicle than desirable certain pointers need to be kept in mind. Always do a comparison and then shop for the specific women car insurance policy. This can definitely help you in getting the most affordable and the best deal. Also, since women by nature love to shop, this shopping and comparison part would not be boring for them. You can seek help both through the online and offline modes for this purpose. You can perform simultaneous comparisons while shopping online and also take the benefit of online quotes free of cost for women car insurance. It has to be kept in mind that the insurance premium cost for luxurious cars or the cars having extra power capacity is higher. Compact hybrids or 4-door sedans can be a very smart choice.

Also one should try to maintain a good driving and credit history. Obviously, a reliable and safe driving background will attract lower premium costs. You also make saving on a persistent basis as you would receive a no-claim bonus for your policy on auto-insurance.

Ford Escape Hybrid Limited

that sticker price is at least $7,000 more than I would have guessed! Ford has done some serious revamping of this little ute. While this four isn’t the smoothest one in cardom, the electronics have been reprogrammed and that really smoothed the engine’s stop/start operation and feels like it forces the system into full-electric mode more often.

The new rear suspension helps a lot too. The car feels a lot more buttoned down than other Escapes that I remember, and a lot of the harsh wheel impacts over potholes that I also recall seem to be cut way back as well.

In terms of smoothness and refinement, the Escape is not on par with the Honda CR-V, the Toyota RAV4 or the new Chevrolet Equinox, but it’s a better small SUV than it used to be.

EXECUTIVE EDITOR ROGER HART: I like this hybrid more and more each time I drive it. But Wes is right, the sticker on this little ute is pretty high. I know that being green has a price, but man, $37,000? And that’s with only $2,600 in add-ons?

One thing that remains hard to get used is the brake-pedal feel of hybrids, and this one is as bad as it gets in pedal feel. You’d think that as long as Ford has been making this hybrid that the pedal feel would be getting better, rather than just staying the same.

Another downside is that the back seats really don’t fold flat. They fold about 85 percent flat, meaning the cargo space is somewhat compromised.

ART DIRECTOR KEN ROSS: This is one of the best performing hybrids I have been in. You almost don’t even notice it’s a hybrid. However, the price is steep and recouping this amount of markup won’t happen anytime soon, so I’m not sure if it’s worth the initial costs. The Escape’s exterior styling, interior and overall driving dynamics are all improved from the previous generation, but I agree, it still falls short of the Toyota RAV4 and the Honda CR-V.

Mazda RX-7 Sporty Japanese Car

The Mazda RX-7 was a sports car that Mazda produced between the years of 1978 and 2002. One unique feature of this particular car is that it featured the Wankel engine. The RX-7 replaced the RX-3 and eventually replaced all of Mazda's rotary engine vehicles except the Cosmo.

The first RX-7 only had a 1150 cc engine. The rotary engine featured twin rotors and the vehicle was a rear wheel drive car. The rotary engine had been developed in Germany many years earlier, but Mazda is one of the few auto manufacturers to successfully use the technology in a widely produced vehicle. One drawback of the engine is that it uses more fuel than the piston engine. This cause several problems for Mazda in the 70s oil crisis.

Rotary engines are light weight in their construction. This gave the RX-7 a feeling of more power with a smaller engine. The engines also run smoother that a comparable piston engine.

Mazda found that it was easy to modify the engine to meet tougher emissions standards without use of a catalytic converter, however, these modifications caused the RX-7 to use even more fuel. Finally, by 1984, fuel use was improved to 29 mpg highway and 19 mpg city. For the RX-8, fuel economy matches other vehicles of the same class and weight.

Mazda sold the RX-7 as a sports coupe. The RX-7 had a mid mounted engine and offered great stability. In America for a while there was an option of dealer installed rear seats, however in Japan there was the option of purchasing the vehicle with rear seats already installed.

The second generation of the RX-7 was introduced between 1986 and 1989. The styling copied the popular Porsche. In addition, the RX-7 convertible came on the market in 1988. The convertible continued to be produced until 1992. It was rated as one of the best convertibles that were ever produced.

In 1992 the third generation RX-7 was introduced and the sales of the RX-7 stopped during 1995 when only a limited number of the Mazda RX-7s were shipped to the United States dealers for sale. Sales of the vehicle continued in other parts of the world until 2002.

The Mazda RX-8 eventually replaced the RX-7 world wide. It was first introduced into the United States in 2001 at an auto show, but sales did not begin until 2004. The RX-8 continues Mazda's tradition of the rotary engine, however it offers seating in the vehicle for four as standard.

Buying New Or Used Motor Homes…which Is Better?

Looking to buy new or used motor homes is fun and exciting. You get to look at all the new features and gadgets that they have in the newer models. You get to imagine yourself traveling around in different RVs, even if they are out of your budget. Nothing quite compares to shopping for your ideal motor home.

However, when it comes down to buying a motor home, many of us choose to buy used or pre-owned as some dealers like to call it. There are tons advantages for buying both new and used. To decide which is best for you, consider your options.

Advantages of Buying a New Motor Home
The best part of a new RV is it is new. No one has ever slept in the bed. No one has ever taken it out on the road. You get to do all the firsts with your brand new motor home.

Another selling point on buying new is the customization. When you buy brand new, you can order it with all these things you want in it and leave out the stuff you don't. You really do get a recreational vehicle that is customized precisely for you.

Advantages of Buying a Used Motor Home
The biggest advantage of buying used motor homes is the price. When you look at the price, a used motor home is approximately 30% cheaper than a comparable new motor home.

While 30% is not a big difference for a $7,000 popup, it can be when you consider a Class A motor home. Thirty percent can be a lot when you are purchasing a $60,000 Class A motor home. When you start talking about $60,000 for a new Class A motor home, you can get a used one for $18,000 dollars less!

Another great advantage from buying used is all the accessories. The longer a person keeps a motor home, the more likely they are to accessorize it. TV brackets, cable or satellite hookups, and additional fans are just a few accessories people add to their RV. While these small things do not increase the price dramatically, it is something you do not have to do in the future.

Avoid Online Fraud By Buying And Selling On Consignment

Legitimate and fraudulent RV sales run rampant on the Internet. The key to buying or selling a used RV online is to know the scams and how to avoid them. Most online scams follow the script. Therefore, if you familiarize yourself with the most popular scams, then you can be confident that the motor home you are buying or selling isn't part of an online scheme.

RVs for Sale by Owner
When you are selling your motor home, travel trailer, toy hauler or any other kind of RV, you need to be leery of buyers communicating solely though e-mail. Unfortunately, you never know who is on the other end of an e-mail address. The person could be legitimate or they could be looking to cheat up.

Watch out for e-mail only buyers. Most people will want to see the RV before they buy it. Be leery of anyone wanting to buy it sight unseen.
Another big scam is to give you too much money. This should be a big red flag since normal people do not pay more than the asking price. However, the scam works something like this. They will send you a check/money order for more than the item. They ask you to ship it to them and say the money will cover it, and you can keep the difference. You agree only to find out later the check/money order was fraudulent.

This scam even works on people who are skeptical. They will hold the check/money order and wait for it to clear before sending the item. What they don't know is that U.S. banks can only hold a check for so long before clearing it. However, it can take longer than the allowable holding time to clear foreign banks and you are left holding the bill.

Prevent Scams with Consignment
The easiest way to guard against fraudulent activity is with a consignment lot. When a dealer sells on consignment, they are selling the RV for the owner. The dealer does not own the RV, as the person is still the owner. Therefore, you are still buying from the owner. Yet, you have the assurance of legitimacy from the dealer.

If you are selling, then allowing a consignment lot sell your RV prevents you from the hassle and headache of selling a large ticket item. You do not have to worry about bad checks, faulty financing or even weirdoes coming by your house. The dealer does all the work for you.

The auto service shop you choose should carry reputable brands like AC Delco, Bosch, Remy, Motorcraft, Mopar, Goodyear, Dayco, Echlin, Standard, Cardone, Autolite, NGK, Akebono, Nipedenso, and Denso.

BMW "No Reverse" Transmission Problem

An automatic transmission is just that- automatic, consequently most people tend to pay very little attention to it until a major problem rears its ugly head.

Picture the scenario- you are driving along in the lap of luxury, the satellite radio blaring and the heated seats on. You have become accustomed to the comfort level and great driving experience brought to you by BMW.

You decide to stop at the local convenience store on your way home to grab some ice cream for the kids and a bottle of water for yourself. Upon returning to your car, you start it up, check your rear view mirror, put the shifter in reverse and then the unthinkable happens- the engine just revs as if it is in neutral and the car goes nowhere!

This article deals with the reasons behind an unexpected loss of reverse in certain BMW automatic transmission equipped vehicles, specifically the 3 series and 5 series vehicles that use the ZF5HP19 or steptronic transmission. This includes the popular 323i, 323ci, 325i, 328i, 330i, 525i, 528i, 530i, X3 and X5 models well as some others built in the 1999 to present model years.

To eliminate confusion, this does not apply to vehicles equipped with the GM 5L40 E transmission, just the ones with the sometimes problematic ZF5HP19. The 5L40 E has some issues of its own that are beyond the scope of this article but are certainly going to be the subject of another.

The failure rate for these transmissions seems to be very high and is expected to become much more of a problem as time goes by.

Typically, the vehicle is working perfectly while driving forward but when it is put in reverse there is a complete and permanent loss of movement to back up.

Reverse is typically a major feat for any transmission to accomplish- imagine the demands that are placed on a gearbox as it is asked to reverse the torque of your engine so that you can back up your nearly 4000 pound vehicle.

By far, the most common cause of the reverse problem in BMW's is the failure of the D-G clutch drum. Specifically, the snap ring that retains the D or reverse clutch breaks out of the clutch drum resulting in an inability for the clutch pack to apply.

The good news is that there is hope in regards to a proper repair. The factory has released an updated part that so far appears to be a permanent fix for this problem.

In our testing and in conjunction with several hundred successful repairs at our facilities, the new part seems to be metallurgically superior in several ways.

We have found that there is an improved radius area as well as slightly thicker casting. In addition to this, the grove that retains the snap ring is also relocated further away from the edge of the drum.
